Sherri Balassone, Esq.

Vice President

Sherri's unique experience in sales, rentals and real estate brokerage law distinguishes her in the New York State real estate industry. She specializes in New York State real estate brokerage law with an expertise in fair housing, real estate licensing, real estate continuing education, residential property sales and leasing transactions. In addition to working as a Licensed Associate Real Estate Broker for close to a decade, Sherri is a member of the New York State Bar and held the position of Senior Attorney at Abrams Garfinkel Margolis Bergson, LLP, where she worked in conjunction with Broker Counsel to the Real Estate Board of New York (“REBNY”). Sherri has worn many hats throughout her career in the residential real estate industry including attorney, New York State continuing education instructor for real estate licensees, sales and leasing associate broker for two brokerage firms and on-site leasing manager for a large New York City landlord.

Advising and instructing over 15,000 members of REBNY and other real estate licensees on laws that affect their daily transactions offered Sherri a rare perspective on the real estate industry. She used this perspective to help guide REBNY and other organizations in considering and incorporating a real estate licensee’s point of view when proposing new regulations and laws. Training real estate licensees to use best practices and remain compliant with trade association regulations as well as federal, state and local laws is a passion of hers.

Sherri’s practice of the law enabled her to master pertinent contracts utilized by real estate brokerages. She has drafted numerous legal documents for real estate brokerage firms across New York City, which has given her the expertise necessary to identify and resolve complex issues relating to Independent Contractor Agreements, Exclusive Listing Agreements and Rental Fee Agreements, just to name a few.

Before entering the real estate industry, Sherri graduated with honors from Pace University School of Law in 2011. Previously, she enjoyed a successful career in biotech/pharmaceutical sales. While working in the biotech industry, Sherri was chosen for jury duty which sparked great interest and turned her attention to the law. An undergraduate Bachelor of Arts degree from Assumption University with a focus on Business Communications has proven to be an asset when presenting to both small and large groups, live and on film.

Sherri prides herself on treating everyone with respect, kindness and a touch of humor. Aside from her training as a dancer in ballet and competitive latin ballroom, she enjoys traveling to tropical locations, paddleboarding, cooking, reading, documentaries and weekend road trips. Sherri has been a resident of New York City for two decades.
